Q. What is the best engine and gearbox?

A. This can depend on what conversion route you are heading down and to type of driving you a more likely to be doing but we recommend.

Pre 2010 – 1.9L – 102ps – 5 speed: These are a good all rounder, cheaper to service and the most economical.

Pre 2010 – 2.5L – 130ps – 6 speed: More power and better for motorway cruising.

Other pre 2010 are the 84ps (under powered) and 174ps.

2010 – 2016 2.0L – 102ps – 5 speed: Like it’s predecessor this is a good all rounder and economical but the newer common rail engine is more refined and smoother.

2010 – 2016 – 2.0L – 140ps – 6 speed: More power and better for motorway cruising.

Other 2010 – 2016 are the 84ps (under powered) and 180ps Bi-turbo.

Post 2016 – 2.0L – 102ps EU6 – 5 speed: Good all rounder and economical.

Post 2016 – 2.0L – 150ps EU6 – 6 speed: More power and better for motorway cruising.

EU5 or EU6 – With ever tighter emissions laws coming to inner city areas then the EU6 would future proof your van for longer.
